Caroline, a nurse at Mass General Hospital in Boston says, "I've been a nurse for around 7 years. The original picture that inspired the painting was taken just as COVID was ramping up, when I was just happy to help. Shortly after, I moved from general medicine to the Medical ICU, into the second big wave of the pandemic. The entire ICU was 100% filled with very sick COVID patients for the next two years. Many that I cared for did not leave the ICU. It has been one of the greatest challenges in my life and I am happy to be on the other side with my amazing coworkers (nurses, doctors, and respiratory therapists) that helped get me through it."
